Session 2 - Trust + Conflict

Session Reminders:

  • Foster Trust & Relationships

    • Continue building trust, especially with new team members.

    • Encourage open, honest conversations and assume positive intent.

  • Engage in Healthy Conflict

    • Notice your auto responses and practice choosing your response through the pause.

    • Differentiate between productive and destructive conflict — focus on resolving issues, not assigning blame.

  • Communicate with Intention

    • If and when “take it offline” comes up, clarify next steps. Recognize when this fits, often it’s when we need to handle sensitive or detailed discussions productively.

    • Clarify: Who needs to be there? Who needs to know? When can we expect an update?

  • Reinforce Core Values

    • Keep core values visible and connect daily decisions back to them.  

    • Catch people doing things right and give recognition.

  • Collaborate on Goals & Priorities

    • Work together across SLT and MLT for consistent communication and shared ownership.

    • Schedule and start meeting as an MLT consistently and rotate facilitation.
